The meaning of Vivaswan

Vivaswan (sanskryt: विवस्वन्त्् vivasvant) means 'the Sun'. The word is derived from the root vas - 'to cover, to pervade'; with the prefix vi- ; therefore the word can be understood as 'the one who pervades everything in a particular way' (viśeṣeṇa vāste, ācchādayatīti).
