Academy of Indian Classical Music, Varanasi - learning music in India
The Pramila Mishra Academy of Indian Classical Music, founded by Pt. Deobrat Mishra, is the largest and fastest growing school of Indian classical music in Varanasi; Varanasi being the music capital of North India is the best place to learn Indian music. Led by world-renowned artists, leading exponents of the "Benares Lineage" - Banaras Gharana, the Academy enables both amateur and professional musicians to get the best musical education. Classes are attended by both Indian and international students.

The following subjects are taught at the Academy:
(1) Classical singing (including bhajan, khayal, dhrupad and other vocal forms)
(2) Sitar
(3) Tabla
(4) Bansuri (flute)
(6) Surbahar
(7) Sarod
(8) Kathak dance
(9) Nad yoga - yoga of sound.
The classes also include a theory of Indian music.
Every Sunday, the Academy hosts at its venue special concerts featuring eminent artists of India.
